This year for my birthday on June 29th, I wanted to get away and spend time with Ron and the girls at the beach. Unfortunately Kayley had to work and Misty ended up in the Hospital a couple days before the trip so they couldn't join us.
We started the day with a trip to the hospital to see Misty who was doing much better. Then we headed to the city to pick up Holly. We went to a beach that we hadn't been to before that was only 20 minutes from Holly's. Moss Beach is a nature reserve with tide pools and harbor seals. The weather was perfect at around 84 degrees. I really enjoy the smell of the ocean, the sound of the waves, the feel of sand on my feet, the freshness of the air and how peaceful it is.

One of the many tide pools with little creatures in them.

Another one of the tide pools.

The beautiful surf. Do you see any harbor seals?

How about now. Cones are put out on the beach as the tide comes in so that the seals can come bask in the sun without people disturbing them. It was quite a site to see and they are fun to watch.

Ron checking out the seals more closely.

Heather, Lexie and Holly being silly at the beach. Love their many faces and fun loving attitudes.

There were many firsts for Lexie today.
- First time seeing the Ocean
- First time at a beach
- First time seeing tide pools
- First time seeing Harbor seals
She made us all laugh when the first words out of her mouth when she saw the Ocean were "It's huge!" I think she was thinking more that it would look more like a lake LOL.

Heather enjoying the sunshine!

I just love what the beach does to naturally wavy hair (NOT) after I have taken the time to straighten it for the day. Although I don't care for pictures of myself right now I am so happy that I have one of Ron and I together and I am sure the girls will treasure it in the future.

Good bye Moss Beach we had a great time and will see you again :)
Once we left the beach we headed over to Fenton's Creamery in Piedmont, CA. Ron and I started going there in the 1980's when we first started dating. I remember waiting in long lines at midnight and loving every minuted of it. I remember how big the ice creams use to be and while they are still big they are not as big as they once were. Ron and I could never finish the banana split.

Love this instagram photo of Ron and I even though it's pretty blurry! I love his smile :)

Another first for Lexie! The girls split a banana split and they totally finished it :)

Ron told them it was my birthday and this was my birthday banana split which Ron and I shared and still were not able to finish LOL. The girls helped us out in that department though.
After Fenton's we took Holly to the BART station so she could get home and we headed home ourselves. I enjoyed the day so so much and hope we can have more family days like this.
Until Next time!
